According to the nautical dictionary, "calma chicha" is a term that is was originally used in sailing and refers to the calm before the storm. If the calm is "chicha," the sea is completely still.
So honor the name of the shop by calmly taking your time to look around and enjoy this large, simple and solitary environment and contemplate items that are related to our culture and our identity, items that tell you about our way of life and customs, with a touch of modern design. Irresistible: the penguin jug, a replica of the ones that were used a few years ago to serve table wine, which was frequently drunk with "soda" (sparkling water). The most affordable and funniest section is the one that includes small items, which are very decorative and attractive, even though they are not terribly useful. For example: lighters, metallic-colored "bombillas" (special "straws" used to drink mate), spin tops, key chains, old postcards, etc.
But as in large bazars, you will also see a number of items displayed together in cheerful disorder, such as toys, original textile novelties, mats, milk jugs, original vinyl and ribbon purses, huge puffs, matches, frieze blankets and other surprises. They are all products related to our history, designed and selected by Carla Bonifacio and Diego Olinik.
