This is an independent theatre that was named after the first theatre of the city of Buenos Aires, which was opened in colonial times in 1789: a construction with a straw roof that was founded by the Spanish Viceroy Juan José de Vértiz and destroyed by a fire in 1792. This theatre was opened in 1992 and is famous for its organization of plays by national authors. Its program includes external theatre groups that are in an experimental phase or in the search of new theatre trends, new forms. This also includes theatre groups that are taking their first steps. The room includes a black box with good depth and it can seat 50 spectators on the stands. It has a technical cabin for musical operations and lighting and is equipped with a good light set.
