Our beloved neighborhood is a paradise of old traditional pizzerías with counters made of tin and wood, where you use paper napkins and drink moscato wine (a very sweet wine). But, of course, San Telmo also has a McDonald's: it is located on Paseo Colón Avenue, in front of the School of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires. This restaurant is different from the traditional McDonald's restaurants, since it has been adapted in a way to the neighborhood. There are “filetes” (a local kind of decorative painting) on the doors and windows which were made by Martineano Arce, who was declared an illustrious citizen of this city, a true Buenos Aires citizen. Can you imagine this strange combination of Buenos Aires tango tradition and burgers and fries? We applaud this attempt to bridge the gap between this restaurant chain and the values of tango. This place is not bad at all for those fans who cannot resist a Big Mac...
