This bar is located in a house that dates back to 1890. When Héctor Villalba, a tango teacher and businessman who has been living in California for 35 years, created Academia de Tango Dandi he was looking for something different. Something that would "capture the essence of tango." That's how he came up with the idea of creating a "Tango Clinic in Buenos Aires," because, as he says, "whoever went there did not leave until they learned to dance tango well." Tango dancing classes are given here every day (in the afternoon) from Monday to Sunday. There are group classes in an 80m2 room with mirrors on the walls, an original parquet floor and alabaster chandeliers. On Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. classes are given by Marcelo Varela and Analía Vega. They emphasize the concept of musicality, which is why they say that while dancing, you have to imagine that your body is one of the musical instruments that are playing. They also try to avoid the dominating role of the man. "No one leads, no one follows. Both feel. The man's responsibility is to propose a movement and see what reaction he gets," says Varela. Both of them also participate in the organization of the milonga Susheta with Gloria García and "El Tranquilo," which starts at 10:00 p.m. The milonga "Los Dinzel" takes place on Fridays.
