This cultural center is located in front of the Museo de Arte Moderno (Museum of Modern Art) and it organizes all kinds of activities for one purpose: to promote the neighbors participation in the cultural life of the district and the city. It offers free drama, painting, musical instrument, salsa, tango and folklore classes. A lot of people attend these classes, since, as Liliana, a neighbor, says, "It's very interesting to learn to dance in these neighborhood courses, because people interact as if they were a family." In a way, these places now play the role of the former neighborhood clubs or cultural associations where people used to share mates, conversations, games, dances and music. The foreigners that live in the area frequent this place because they prefer to share their learning experience with the neighbors and because they are attracted by the idea of achieving a greater understanding of the city\'s popular culture.
