The name \"Viejo Almacén\" (\"Old Warehouse\") has become world-famous for representing the most traditional tango in Buenos Aires. It is located in the historical area of the city, on the corner with no chamfer of Balcarce and Independencia. This corner harbors the soul of the mysterious city of Buenos Aires and has preserved its traces like no other place in the San Telmo district. The history of this bar has been associated with tango since 1933, when a Russian woman nicknamed \"La Volga\" turned this place into a tango bar frequented by sailors. It is the bar where the famous singer Edmundo Rivero took his first steps in the world of tango.
