This restaurant is located on a corner in San Telmo and is managed by its Japanese owner, who will offer you food but not conversation. The name “Sol Naciente” (Rising Sun) is “Nippon Koku” in Japanese. At this restaurant you will find the Japanese owner, who doesn't speak Spanish, reading a newspaper from his country and the chef cooking in the back, who doesn't speak a word of any language other than Japanese either. Don't worry if you feel like you don't understand anything and they just ignore you, there is an Argentine waitress who will help you around this Oriental labyrinth. Sandra told us that the dishes are not classified according to the order in which they are eaten, but by the method with which they are prepared. Let's go to the menu... for example, the “yakimono” are grilled, the “gohan” is a plate of rice, the “mushimono” are boiled foods, etc. The tables at this restaurant only have soy sauce; there is no salt. In short, it is a new kind of restaurant created for those who dare to try new experiences. You will judge for yourself if the novelty is the lack of communication or the Oriental environment.
